Description

Student enrolled in JMU graduate programs experience a high level of engagement; in many programs, 100% of enrolled students spend substantial time in engaged learning and community engagement activities as these experiences are part of the required curriculum. For many programs, including accredited programs and programs that prepare students for licensure, JMU cannot distinguish itself from comparable programs at other universities in terms of the standard-level of engagement, as these experiences are essential components of the mandated experience across institutions. However, JMU can be distinctive when students experience engagement that surpasses the standard mandate for a program; we already do that in many programs, especially in the domains of community and civic engagement.
