Description

Drs. Kavanagh and McCartney (College of Education) worked closely with the Refugee Resettlement Office to create a summer enrichment and civics-based program, Community with Creativity and Reading Education (CARE), that brought together Elementary and Early Childhood MAT graduate students to work as teacher interns implementing creative and culturally expressive learning experiences and leading community-based field trips for children of refugee families newly resettled in the Rockingham/Harrisonburg community.
