55th Annual Meeting of the Southeast Conference Association for Asian Studies

The 55th annual meeting of the Southeast Conference of the Association for Asian Studies will be held January 15–17, 2016, at James Madison University.

We invite you to propose an individual paper presentation or a full panel of papers. Proposals must be submitted by November 15, 2015 (NEWLY EXTENDED DEADLINE).

Conference participants must be dues-paying members of the SEC/AAS. Dues are $20 for professionals and $10 for students. Please complete the membership application form on the SEC/AAS website (“Membership Information”) and submit this form with the correct dues to Charlotte Beahan, Department of History, 6b Faculty Hall, Murray State University, Murray, KY 42071-3341. All SEC/AAS members will receive a copy of the Southeast Review of Asian Studies (SERAS), the SEC/AAS’s peer-reviewed journal.

Three $200 grants are available to graduate students presenting papers. Those who wish to apply for these grants should note this on their paper proposals. Preference will be given to students in the Southeast region who must travel more than two hundred miles to attend.
