Abstract
The Internet perpetuates the trauma of child pornography survivors. Every day, the Internet provides a space that continues the cycle of abuse for survivors. This essay explores how technological advancements have led to a skyrocketing number of survivors having to cope with the knowledge that individuals − strangers − exploit them every day. It addresses this issue from a legal perspective; by investigating previous court cases and current proposed legislation, it enforces a distinct need for stronger Internet regulations to prevent future generations of children from facing additional emotional turmoil when their abuse shared and distributed online.
