Abstract
The instructors took a problematic assignment -- the current events quiz -- and made it more interactive using a free, cloud-based software called Fotobabble. Students provide up to 60 seconds of narration on photos found online or taken themselves and embed the final product on Blackboard. The result provides a snapshot of the week’s news and culminates with Story of the Week voting via text message and class-wide discussion. After viewing a demonstration and some sample projects, attendees will create their own Fotobabbles that discuss the session and how this technique might be applied in their own classrooms.
