Abstract
Data management has been recognized as important for faculty and graduate students, yet developing the foundational content and necessary skills should begin in undergraduate curriculum. A significant body of research regarding data management knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors provides opportunities for translation back into the undergraduate experience. To help identify strategies and areas in the health curriculum that are relevant to data management for undergraduates, this chapter will explore three areas of engagement: liaison librarians, the undergraduate research experience, and the research process as it relates to the Institutional Review Board. By integrating data information literacy into these areas, librarians can help prepare undergraduate populations interested in health-related fields to engage with data in their careers and graduate studies.
