Call for Reviewers

The Virginia Journal of Public Health is looking for peer reviewers for VJPH manuscript submissions. Reviewers should be engaged in the practice, teaching or study of public health or related fields (or retired from any of the above) and interested in promoting public health and public health practice across the Commonwealth. The VJPH invites papers on topics pertaining to population, community, and public health including:

  • health equity
  • population health promotion and prevention
  • field epidemiology
  • disease control and prevention,
  • community engagement and advocacy
  • the intersection of culture and health
  • vulnerable populations
  • public health methodologies
  • program evaluation, and
  • health policy

Student, academic, and practice-based peer reviewers are welcome and can expect to review 2-3 papers each year. The VJPH review process is designed to be simple and not burdensome for reviewers: a simple checklist with open comment fields for suggestions or clarifications for authors is all that is required.
