Description

The Madison Art Collection offers two types of internships to JMU students. The Lisanby Museum Gallery Internship helps students increase their success of getting into the graduate school of their choice and a letter of recommendation. They look for students who want to develop their public relations, social media, and technical writing skills. They encourage students from Anthropology, English, History, and Marketing, as well as those from the arts to apply. The successful applicant may earn 1, 2, or 3 credit hours of ARTH 495. The other type of student internship is the Collections Management Internship. JMU students who have completed basic coursework in museum studies (from anthropology, art history, or history) are encouraged to apply for this internship. The successful intern may earn 1 or 2 credits of ARTH 495 while working with objects from the Madison Art Collection.
