Description

The Faculty Emeriti Lecture Series is a free event, open to all members of the JMU and Harrisonburg community. Co-sponsored by the JMU Faculty Emeriti Association and JMU Outreach & Engagement. For example, a February 2017 Lecture Series event presented by Dr. Clarence Geier entitled "'Coming to America' the Norwegian Viking Exploration and Settlement of North America" reviewed existing evidence for the move of Norwegian Vikings across the North Atlantic including the Leif Ericson exploration of the Canadian Coast and the establishment of the settlement of L'Anse aux Meadows in Newfoundland.
