Description

The Office of Disability Services (ODS) at JMU (JMU) hosts the Annual Disability Awareness Week to raise awareness of issues that surround students with disabilities and to continue to facilitate an environment of inclusion and equity at JMU. In the past, the events have centered around promoting student self-efficacy and their role in creating their own stories of success. Members of the JMU community are invited to listen to speakers and participate in activities that will broaden their understanding of disability on the individual and community level. Both students with disabilities and without should leave DAW with a feeling of “I've Got This” and an ability to recognize what it means to be an individual with a disability and an ally.
