The Empowerment Center Recognized by the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition

Description

The Empowerment Center in the Department of Kinesiology was selected to host the first ever President's Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition Inclusive Youth Sports Festival in May 2019, which 21 participants with and without disabilities attended. The program established new partnerships with refugee communities and peer mentoring programs at Montevideo Middle School, Weaver's Karate, and Edge Effect Fitness.
