JMU staff consult with an Alum to bring public testing to Harrisonburg
Description
Consultation from IIHHS, CHBS, and the CSL office at JMU helped to make Coronavirus testing possible for the public on May 2, 2020. The testing will be held in partnership between the Virginia Department of Health, Sentara, and the City of Harrisonburg with a focus on serving diverse and under-served neighborhoods in the area. JMU faculty and staff provided feedback and knowledge from their leadership perspectives to consider the stigmatization of vulnerable populations, language interpreter assistance, and educational resources at the testing sites.
