In 2012, Dr. Megan E. Tracy (Assistant Professor, Anthropology) received $5,119 from the National Science Foundation for "Regulating Accountability and Transparency in China’s Dairy Industry" to focus on the ethical, economic, political and technological questions raised when animal welfare is constructed as the means to ensure safe food of animal origin for consumers.
