Abstract
Logistic regression was used to predict a student’s likelihood of leaving the university at the end of the first year of study. Predictors in the model included racial identity (African American/Black, Asian/Asian American, Hispanic/Latinx, Multiracial, and White), gender identity (male or female), generation status (continuing- or first-generation), state residency (instate or out-of-state), and grant status (awarded a federal grant or not awarded a federal grant). Interactions were also put into the model to explain experiences of students who are intersectionally marginalized within higher education contexts
